Literature and Culture and the Monsters We Make CORE 101
University Course, reupdated the UI Library and Web Research Tutorial and created ads for
the Vidmar Motors web site. Currently working on redesigning the University of Idaho,
English department website.

2001- Present Graphic Designer Fugue
|
Graphic designer for Fugue, the University of
Idaho's literary magazine. Designed whole Summer 2001 and Fall 2001 issues from the cover
and logo to the entire interior layout. My art was featured on the cover of the Fall 2001
issue. Currently working on the Summer issue of the the magazine, and creating an art
editorial board to oversee the submission of art.

2001- August 2001 Yearbook Teacher UBMS

Designed and taught a three week (3
hours, 4 days a week) yearbook course for the Upward Bound Math Science program. The
students were high school students from around the northwest. Directed the students in
creating a yearbook for the entire UBMS summer program. Taught photographic techniques,
computer layout (on PhotoShop), journalistic writing, and editing. Guided the students
through the creative process allowing them to make all the decisions and do all of the
work on the yearbook.

Assisted the professor with in
class discussion and class planing. Planned and taught a mentor section once weekly.
Topics I've taught range from study skills to environmental artists. My lectures on urban
legends as modern oral tradition and Native Americans in art (Pre-Columbus Indian art, the
European perception of Indians in art, and Native American artists today) were perhaps the
best received.

Worked with a number of different
students in many different courses: geology, geography, anthropology, art thesis, and
others. Met with each student at least once a week and we discuss, review, study, work,
edit, or what ever the student needs help with.

Updated and repaired the University
of Idaho's Library's award winning Web Tutorial. It can be found at www.lib.uidaho.edu/tutorial. The
update consisted of gathering recent screen shots, animating gifs, polishing graphic, and
making other small textual or image updates and repairs.

Assisted with digital output
printing at the University of Idaho's digital imaging lab. Worked with a Phaser 740 laser
jet, Tektronix Phaser 350 solid ink, Kodak DyeSublimation, and a HP Designjet 2500cp
Inkjet. Was responsible digital slide output including slide film developing and
mounting. Also scanned on a flatbed and slide/negative scanner and provided scan cleaning
and color correction.

Along with other projects I
updated the SUB's website, created a Who's Who on campus webpage and presentation. I also
created, coordinated, and managed a number of the Student Union's advertising campaigns.

ads for both the paper and online addition of the Argonaut and oversaw the advertising
production staff. Laid out the Argonaut's business cards as well as their rate sheet.

advertisement recruiting students to the University of Idaho's College of Mines which was
distributed to high schools around Idaho.

| Writer and photographer for GamesFirst! (www.gamesfirst.com) for three years, last fall I became a co-owner of the site and took over as Design Editor. Founding member of Weiner Dog Productions (www.wdog.com), also responsible for the look of the page. Weiner Dog Productions is a collective of like-minded artists and as well as a web design company. The 1999 summer edition of Fugue featured my photograph on the cover as well as my cover design. Lance Olson's creative writing textbook Rebel Yell also features my photograph on the cover. Helped to put together a monthly independent newspaper called Guerrilla, photographed, solicited advertisers, managed money, did page design and layout, and helped determine content. While a student at the University of Idaho I taught and tutored. Including a semester managing the black and white photo lab. Worked with a band, The Clumsy Lovers, doing live and studio photography for posters, their web page, and promotional use. Take portrait photographs for personal or publication use. Document my own and other artist's work. Recently I've been working on a series of short films. Bad Neighbor (credited as assistant director/producer) and L'Ecrivain (credited as photographer) are both featured on Ifilm, L'Ecrivain was show on TechTV's show, You Made It.
